IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTICE

Dear Consumer:

This letter is to advise you that New Widetech, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), is recalling certain AeonAir, Amana, ArcticAire (Danby), Classic (Danby / Home Hardware Stores), Commercial Cool, Danby, Danby Designer, Danby Premiere, De’Longhi, EdgeStar, Friedrich, Generations (Danby), Haier, Honeywell (JMATEK / AirTek), Idylis, Ivation, perfect aire, SuperClima, Whirlpool, and Whynter brand dehumidifiers manufactured from January 1, 2009 through August 31, 2017, because under certain circumstances these dehumidifiers can overheat and catch fire posing fire and burn hazards. No injuries have been reported. Records show that you may have purchased a recalled dehumidifier.

To stay safe, please stop using the recalled dehumidifier.

New Widetech is offering consumers a refund based on the following formula:

• a full refund of the average retail price of the dehumidifiers that were manufactured from January 1, 2017 through August, 31 2017;
• a 50% refund of the average retail price of the dehumidifiers that were manufactured between January 1, 2013 through December 31, 2016; and
• a 25% refund of the average retail price of the dehumidifiers that were manufactured from January 1, 2009 through December 31, 2012.

WHAT YOU SHOULD DO

• Immediately stop using your recalled dehumidifier.
• Unplug the dehumidifier.
• Register for a refund by going online at https://www.recallrtr.com/nwtdehumidifier/ or by calling 877-251-1512 toll free between 8:00 am and 7:00 pm M-F Eastern. You will need the unique serial number found on the rating sheet or near the rating sheet on a separate label. The rating sheet and/or the separate label are usually located on the back of your dehumidifier.
• Once you register and after it is determined your product is affected,
  • Cut the dehumidifier’s power cord;
  • Write your name and the current date on the dehumidifier next to the rating sheet; and Upload photos of the cut cord and the rating sheet, showing your name and date written on the unit, and submit with your online registration.
